Default 50/50 Red/Clear 92-96 MIX TAIL LIGHTS: [Save your 92-94 lights!]

Here's how to make factory Lexus 50/50 Red/Clear taillights!
No custom parts necissary, just a straight foreward lense swap. [Post up with your thoughts!] Just having fun exploring uncharted ideas! Couple more on the way.*

I had this idea after seeing the insides of the various generations of SC taillights on this forum.
First, take your first-generation 1992-1994 taillights (basically free) and open them up..
From there just put the second generation 1995-1996 outer lense covers on top like icing on a cake- Enjoy!

Hah, just 97-00 murdered tails which were on the SC (below), and the 50/50 92-96 mix tails.

lol man that's a brilliant ideal, i cleared my 95 tails before but i never seen the insides of 92 94's and this has got to be the easiest most cost effective way to have a nice set of tails if you already own a 95-96..

btw watch 92-94 tails jump in price now lol...

Nice! I messed around with hybrid taillight lenses before, but they never worked out like yours did. I tried to use the ebay clear outer tail lens on the 92-94 tails, but they didn't fit. Another idea was to use the 97 clear outer lens, but didn't want to risk messing them up lol. Looking forward to seeing the next design. Although, I like the way the 95-96 tails light up at night over the dim 92-94 illumination.

Edit:
Did you re-use the 92-94 inner diffusers or did you get rid or them?

Yes, it's just a factory front lense cover swap.
Using some red LED bulbs should make the light output crisp.
FYI: You could swap some wiring around as well, but it's not necissary for this swap.

This is a great idea! I like it a lot more than the home made lens I had to make in mine. Great stuff!

This looks really good, I may hold off on purchasing some 97 tails. So you just need the red top part from the 95s? I bet aliga is gonna be busy selling busted up tails for the innards now.

Definitely! Yes, all you need are some 1992-94 inners and backing, then throw the 1995-96 outer lenses on top. Finished.

looks great and first time seeing the 95-96 tail covers on 92-94 tails ... you can't go wrong with red and clear!
