I don't think thats a stock GPS. Some of those cars came with a display screen Heat/AC Control/Radio system. It also had a Digital Speedo dash. In most cases the ones that had the Screen Radio ( I think they called it EMS ) did have the Active suspension system also. Kinda like the pic below.
With 42k miles I would go for it but....., I would have the Active supension checked out. They seemed to go bad in time and are very expensive to have repaired. Good luck !

whatever way you bring it into the US it will never be truly street legal, if the feds ever get their hands on it you can kiss it goodbye because while a local DMV such as Florida or Arizona may title and register it, it won't a-have been converted to meet NHTSA and EPA requirements and even if it has it B-wouldn't have been done by a registered importer since none exists to do the conversion for the SC.
MotoRex was the only importer of skylines before getting shut down, ever since, there have been ZERO (0) skyline imports that are considered by the Federal Government as "legal" since there isnt a RI to do the conversion (motoRex had the only license)

Im currently stationed in Germany at Spangdahlem AB
there's a 1992 JDM SC400 (right hand drive) for sale
asking $3,000 US.Dollars.//// 80,000KM(49k Miles) on the clock
looks to be in very good condition, no major work done to it, a few small cosmetic issues like cracked paint and foggy headlights.
Also has a stock gps system it looks like.
I'm meeting the owner tomorrow morning to see it and check it out.
Is this a good offer?
I will be shipping it back to the states in 2 years too if i buy it so will i be able to do that?. I'm sort of new to Lexus's but have been in imports for a few years. All your advice will be helpful. thank you If i like it, i'll take a few pictures and post on here for you to see.

Welcome, i live about 90 kms south of you , look on ebay.co.uk or autotrader.co.uk.. you will find lots of soarers going for cheap. dont buy the first best soarer you can find.
Check out for issues like the bad lcd on the A/C ,blinky dash(easy fix) and weird feeling air suspension(if it has air suspension-get one with the TEmS instead imho)
hope to see you at the 1/4 mile track in bitburg next year!
remeber, you can fly over to england for like 50 euros (ryanair.com) from Hahn airport , then book a ferry online and drive back over to germany(ferry costs about 20-50 euros too-cheaper during the week than on week ends.)
just checked..19 soarers on ebay:
http://motors.shop.ebay.co.uk/items/...d=p3913.c0.m24
there is a sweet black soarer TT vvti on ebay.co.uk!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Lexus-S...3A1|240%3A1318
just make a few appointments, fly over, buy the best one and drive back (ferry takes 2 hours) ..then race through belgium and youll be in spang in no time

OK let's get a few things straight.
No. Soarers yes.
Yes. Only in the V8 Limited and Active models.
It's a GPS unit alright. However there was a huge cufuffle on how to get the GPS working in Australia but to my knowledge it never got off the ground, similar to the digital dash - analogue dash swap (unfortunately). The screen is an old school version of what's in modern day luxury cars, i.e. a control centre for the car's functions (e.g. fuel/trip meter, audio, HVAC and GPS) all in one unit... touch screen too. It also has a TV function.
On the Soarer yes. 4.0GT Limited model only.
They make JDM SC400s??

As I said this was in the Soarers I was looking to buy before settling with the first and current Soarers.
Would be nice if the GPS worked overseas though.
