Default When critters invade...

Well, i just got back from college and have taken the top off my car. It's been sitting at my house since Christmas after getting repairs at a body shop from an accident. I get ready to do an oil change and i make a few interesting discoverys along the way...

hmmm...someone's been stowing away some food for the winter...not good

After clearing all that off along with a few more around the engine bay, more bad news came when i pulled the air filter

apparently they needed some air filter material too...

if this isnt bad enough, my dad eyed some after effects from the paint job

after restarting the battery and resetting the ECU, the car runs very rough and after bout ten mins of driving i got a CEL. I'm praying its just a rodent in the exhaust or something. Im really pissed right now, i was expecting a simple start up after and i get all this. Have a laugh...

No there was a car cover on the entire car. I should also note that the plastic underpanel was off when i had it stored. I forgot to put it back after repairing my PS line. Thats one of the ways they probably got in.

Ill run the trouble codes tomorrow and see what i get.

Those are the signs to get a 2JZGTE and a fresh paint.

Was your painter sniffing gas fumes when he painted that rear quarter panel. That is ridiculous. Be careful driving it--Nothing like going 80 down the interstate and having a squirrel or some damn rat jump out at ya.

that why when you store a car you plug intake and exhaust and put mothballs in the engine bay cabin and around the car. Rodents can't stand the smell of moth *****

^ Definitely agreed! We discovered that by accident but it has worked great! Sorry to hear about all your problems. The paint by the fuel door seems to be caused by some sort of contamination.

Paint looks like it might be a result of the cover ... be interesting to hear what the "paint guy" has to say about how long it had cured.

Animals can do some serious damage if they get into any hoses or worse yet wires. Good luck on tracking down all things they did.

thanks all for the help, i might try the moth ***** trick next time i stow it away..
im going to give the paint shop a call later and see what they have to say. they better fix it or im going to shoot them with the rodents in my car.

i tried to get the engine trouble codes using the paperclip bypass on the engine diagnostic (E1 to TE1), but i cant seem to get anything. The car runs very rough and i cant take it over 3500 RPM w/o the engine light throwing a fit. Is there something im missing here when trying to bring out the ECU codes? Im using this thread as a guidehttps://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...c300+cel+codes
