****Official Wheel & Tire Fitment Guide for SC300/SC400****

Cherplex and Roo, you know I highly respect your opinions and knowledge of wheels, offsets and tires but I have to (IMO) correct you guys (and I don't mean to disrespect you guys in anyway) I just feel that we need a chart or explanation of some sort...
Since the VIP fad has hit the US, people are pushing the envelope on how much tires can be streched on wide wheels, Japan has pushed it pretty far, running 225s on 11 inch wheels, which looks nice but crazy (IMO), with that said I think we need to inform the members of what is the reality of what streched means (there is a big gray area)
People that are into wide wheels with low offsets don't really think that a 275 on a 10.5 wheel is not streched at all but the fact of the matter is...it is streched. People mention square; a squared tire is streched. The recommend width on a 275 tire is a 9-10 inch wheel which produces a sidewall buldge.
Obviously, we all have our own variations and opinions on what is streched and what is not. but we should start by taking a basic model wheel with the recommend tire size and go from there.
Though I don't really know what Technics considers streched?? I would think that the best way to inform people is to post pics of wheels with tire like we're doing in this thread. Great job guys!
Back to my point if we take a 10" wheel and put a recommend tire size on it (275) and use that as our base, then 275 on a 10.5" wheel is considered...a mild strech.

I bring over Minervas from Japan all the time (used ones in decent fitments). You might not be able to find them new anymore but they are still available.

I have 19x9.5 +35 on the rear of my car with 275/30-19's on it.. the fenders are rolled and the tires are close, but I would bet 285's would fit as well... I have Supra TT struts and Tein S-Tech springs...
I don't see why everyone wants these NARROW *** tires on their cars - they handle for crap (in comparison to the proper widths) and honestly, the wheel sticking out like that just looks horrid too...
As far as the notes above about stretching tires, you can find approved wheel widths for tire sizes on any tire manufacturers website... Not saying I follow them to the T, but you should at least stay close in specs...

Allen, hope you read this before you make your decisions... You don't have to go crazy stretched tire to make that fit...

285's, especially BFG"s, on a 9.5" rim will look like crap...PERIOD! Some tires such as the Dunlop Direzza, have a slanted sidewall and you can get away with a wider tire and still clear the fenders...
And how is recommending a 265 on a 9.5" rim considered stretching?
Please don't start with the comments on aggressive wheel fitment, no one talks about your staggered 18" and 19" TSW's

I'm trying to find a balace between looks and function for my wheels. Pretty soon I'll be putting down some good RWHP but I want to look good too.
