I think you should be able to run a wider wheel in the front. The next size up would be a 18x10 + 8 = 6" inner, high disk face (from original rear wheel), 4" outer lip
This is a 9.5 +24 on a stock fender, so a 18x9.5 +14 would extend 10 mm more or a 18x10 +8 would extend 22mm from where the meister sits which is still less than the 25mm from the vertex fenders, but maybe someone else can better advise you on fitment. I just know how to the math calculations.
Also all these numbers are based on the fact that the specs you posted were accurate. I would double check once you have the wheels in your possession.

Any opinions on the 10" +8 with the Vertex 25mm fenders fitment would be appreciated. I'd love to try that one if possible.

This may be old news, but I just ran across this really useful sortable database of wheel weights by size:
http://mechdb.com/index.php/17%22_Wheel_weights
http://mechdb.com/index.php/Wheel_weights
The numbers look pretty close to what I've seen reported elsewhere, for a few I cross-checked.

How would 245/40/18 in the front and 275/35/18 in the rear look with a +38/+40 offset respectively? Could I go with a smaller offset and get more poke for a more aggressive look?
What about 17's +38 all around on 235/45/17 in the front and 265/40/17 in the rear?
Which would look better and more aggressive?
edit: I'm on PBM coilovers. Not slammed by any means though.

Would I notice a drastic difference in handling going from staggered to non-staggered? Also...with the 18's staggered set up, if I wanted poke could I do spacers?
The fact that the 17's will look more aggressive makes me lean towards them...but It's such a difficult decision when shopping for rims...like it's a big deal...it aint like buying an air freshener.
Another thing..my car will be turbo'd I'd say with in a years time maybe even longer...would having 9.5's in the rear be good enough for some traction but just enough slip to save my W58? I'd be on the stock diff. so it'll be a one tire fire kind of a show.
ONE more question...will I notice the difference in handling going from 18's to 17's? I am sure these handling questions apply most to turns and not so much highway straight line driving. The 17's would pack more meat into the fender well right?

Planning on running some Varrstoen Es1's hopefully this summer.
My plan is to get 18x9.5 +12 for the fronts with a 245/40/18 tire.
Backs are going to be 18x10.5 0 offset and hopefully running a 275/40/18.
How will those fit? I'm guessing pretty well obviously going to need a fender pull/roll.

Follow up questions..and thank you for the help.

I would say no, there won't be a large difference going to a non-staggered setup. Tires play a bigger role in handling. Also keep in mind these cars come with a non-staggered setup from the factory.
Spacers are always an option, but with those tire sizes I don't know how big of a spacer you would be able to use. You would need to have a little stretch if you wanted aggressive fitment.

Stock supra tt wheels are 9.5" wide, and a lot of members run those wheels with no problem when they swap.

The type and size of tire have more to do with handling than the diameter of the rim.

ok, ive been reading these posts on here for the last few days and get more confused by the minute. I didnt want to be that guy that seemed like an idiot, but..
Im looking at Advanti A2 Tracktions 18/8 et35 front and 18/9.5 et35 rear, i plan on stretching tires on them but don't know if i will have to roll inners, Im assuming I will. any advice is greatly appreciated.
So far Ive bought a bunch of tires and Im 3 wheelsets in trying to figure this out. I really suck at fitment apparently. ha ha.. Ive searched a bunch but get all kinds of confusion.
