The rear seats will not be able to be used, but you can put one back there with nodifications. I'm planning on getting rear seats soon and cutting holes in them, just to cover the rear up.

You can use the door panels.

if you want a street cage, get the cusco chromoly....it's lightweight, bolt in, (removable if you sell the car) and made specific for SC's with the sunroof.

I also have a S&W cage in my SC (chromoly version) it's an 8pt. 6pt with 2 kicker bars. I would absolutely suggest not to go with a 10pt unless you are turning it into a drag car!

There is a great deal of work that goes into making that cage fit, like detuned mentioned. I have swingouts on mine, and was able to keep my rear seats, we put the rear bars through the speaker holes on the deck.

Factor in labor, a good welder will charge about a $100 per point to weld. There is also a ton of pounding on the flooring to get the plate to mate up on a nice flat surface. It's just not as easy as paying a couple hundred and having a cage in the car. It's not something that you cheap out on if you do it.

Here are a couple pics of mine

very good points. these weld in cages may seem cheap and like a good idea but they are not for street cars. I track all my vehicles as well as drive them on the street and yet I will still be going with a bolt in cusco or okuyama cage in my car. Alot of people overconcern themselves with the legality of cages with scca and other organizations but never use their cars in events where they need to meet these regulations.

As I said before, if you want a cheap, easy, and safe street cage, go cusco. (but remember the harnesses as well...if you hit your head on a roll cage during an accident, you're as good as dead)

I considered the "blue" cusco cage, but it wasn't scca approved. and still costs a lot for the 6 point. The safty 21 cage that is also made by cusco is scca approved though and still costs near $700. Since I wanted a weld in cage and since we are putting it in ourselves, I will save a lot. I do like the cusco cage (safety 21), but I didnt want a bolt in cage. I do know what you're saying about being a street car and removing the bar whenever you want, I just didnt care much about that.

did anybody want me to post up the cusco 4 point in my car?

i also kept in my rear seats cuz if anybody wants to sit back there they can. but of course i warn them first about the bars. i've been meaning to get foam to wrap them just in case someone does sit back there.

i do like how these bars look in your guys car (whoever posted the pics of the bars above in their car) i've been thinking about stripping out my car but then again....i know its not gonna be fun putting everything back later if i sale it. hhehe

I'd like the blue cucso cage, but not in a tan interior ot grey. I'd get the saftly 21 cage also made by cusco for a little more and is approved.

I think the chromoly cusco cages are available in other colors besides blue. The safety21 cage is probably the best cage to go with for price/compatibility/ease of install.
