if u do a search alot of other people have done this before and it really modernizes the interior. if u still want the air bag to work it has to be single stage. The "ideal" choice would be from a 2001 Lexus RX, atleast thats what i heard.

While we're on the steering wheel question, let me ask if anyone else has had a situation where the wheel doesn't come all the way back after making a turn. It seems to drift some in the turn and sometimes responds late to the steering wheel. Is there air in the system or do I have a bigger problem?

I have the 98 GS wheel in my car, the airbag was a direct plug in and the color matches the tan color of the rest of the interior. As for your steering problem, get that checked out by a tech really soon, anything goofy with the steering could be potentially dangerous.

I really like the 3 spoke IS300 wheel, I think it flows very well. We have a local member in queens who has swapped it in, and I think it looks better than any other wheel.

IS300 wheels are butt ugly. No offense to anyone who has them. I prefer the GS, ES, Rx wheels more.

I have an IS300 wheel in my SC - I like it just fine

Marissa - just pick out a wheel that you like (IS, GS, ES RX etc) and find a single stage airbag that matches the wheel. Order the appropriate airbag adapter and you are good to go.

350mm nardi deep corn black with red stitching with perforated leather and quick release is the way to go. Coming soon to a sc near you. I would trust acsc on the pix since he knows almost everything to know about the sc. Lee's the sc pimp.

The 2001 RX300 steering wheel is unique in that it is a 3 spoke woodgrain wheel with a single stage airbag. It should bolt right in. Not only that, but the wood and color matches the color of the upper dash material perfectly.

Looks like this:
