Question

MY STEERING WHEELING IS SHOWING SOME WEAR ON THE LEATHER. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY SOURCE TO GET A LEATHER STEERING WHEEL COVER IN THE SAME COLOR OR STEERING WHEEL RING IN WOOD? ALL THE COVERS I'VE SEEN THE COLORS ARE SO FAR OFF AND/OR SHABBY IN QUALITY. ALSO I WOULD LIKE THE AUTOMATIC GEAR SHIFTER REPLACED AS WHEEL IT HAS A LITTLE WEAR AS WHEEL. I WOULD LIKE TO GET ONE OUT OF THE 98 - 00 SC400 WITH THE WOOD ON IT. WILL IT FIT THE 92 SC 400? IF NOT DOES ANY ONE KNOW THE PRICES OF THESE PARTS? NEW OR USED... AFTER MARKET OR ORG. EQUIP.

Smile coverings

I remember seeing a hi quality kit that cover your steering wheel in leather. Can't remember the name off hand though. But they are out there.
Also I saw one wood trim kit that also had pieces that covered the steering wheel too, they sell it as a kit, but you can prooly just buy the wheel pieces.
The ad was in Sport compact car or import tuner magazine.

Default Wheelskins

Beware of the cheaper imitations, but I put a black Wheelskins cover (to match my redone black steering wheel) on my 92 and it has lasted quite impressively. I had a sand one before and it started to show signs of wear pretty quickly, but the black version has held up to the task and still feels great.

Here's a couple of pics:

I've tried several times to get an aftermarket shop,
and a lexus dealership to get the new steering lexus
wheel on the car. NONE of them will try it.

The wheel itself is also 1000 bucks minimum.

To get rid of the worn leather look, go to
www.wheelskins.com

SC300TT, and I have both put the wheelskin
cover on our cars. It's a nice look.
it's about 30-40 bucks and is soft.

Check it out.

I actually recieved some leather swatches from wheel skins and they didn't come close. (it matched the seats... but not the upper dash, steering wheel or column, which is that dark sand color...) I guess I'll try an upholsterer, as you all stated the dealers price is over the edge!!!

What about putting the 98 - 00 gear shift on the 92 - 97 model (I love that wood and leather combination)???

Anthracite & Ken, what's the color of your steering wheels, is yours black like Scott's? Thank guys...
