why would you not turn in the title over a year though... there could be lots of parking tickets and stuff also then and even more traffic violations if the title isn't transferred. situations like this the bill of sale is important, you could send that to the DMV when the new owner fails to register.

The reference number is : KAE589 Bill ID: 17018013. If my license is suspended due to this, there will be a legal issue. It has been a year now, there is no excuse for this. You had a bill of sale, Texas Title transfer form, and the Title for the car, ALL signed and the title was clear with no lien. I even did a favor and didnt put a date of sale to help any outrageous fees, which Im assuming was a mistake. However, the state will now know that the car was sold July of last year. I hate to do this publicly, ban me or badmouth me I dont care, but this is unacceptable. Picture of the bill and its information is included. I have already contacted them and informed them that I have not owned the vehicle since July of 2015, but because its still registered in my name, they are holding me responsible, and because its a county charged fee, they can and will suspend my license if its not taken care of.

Rarely do I get on CL anymore, so I will be checking the CTRMA website for verification of the payment.

On the TXDMV website its best to fill out a "Vehicle Transfer Notification" online or mail it off with the buyers info this protects you from parking tickets tolls etc..when selling a vehicle.

You must do it within 30 days of selling it tho

Hopefully new owner tranfers Title asap.

I want to publicly apologize for any of the fee's that were charged to you for this and I will pay for it immediately, I am not the person that bought it from you directly and I bought it from someone else second hand in Austin, Texas. I was not aware of any bills that have been charged to you and I will be taking care of it immediately. Thank You for alerting me of the issue and it will be fixed as soon as possible
