Default Need assistance deciding on an exhaust...

I've narrowed it down to either the Topspeed pro 1 or the Tanabe medalion.

My SC300 is pretty much stock and most likely will remain that way. With that in mind, my main concern in regards to an exhaust is the look and sound.

Can anyone advise on which is the better choice of the two?

They are both stainless, neither will net you any gains, so I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I'd personally go with the Tanabe. I've been a big fan of that brand over the past 20 years

Remember though, if you're looking to really open up the car's exhaust note, you're going to need to either remove or change the resonators. Those things do a very good job of quieting up the exhaust, infact alot of people just delete the mufflers and keep the resonators and are satisfied with that sound.. so try taking off your axleback and driving around a bit and seeing how you feel about it. I've also heard of people just deleting the resonators and getting a nice deep exhaust note from that, my buddy with an sc300 has that done to his, it's a little raspy (that might just be the 2jz though, I'm honestly not very well versed in the 2jz.. the 1uz on the other hand is my jam ) but it does still sound good.

As for the choice though.. Tanabe definitely.

I deleted the resonators and did custom 3" piping to dual magnaflow mufflers. Sounds good on highway and while its warming up.

Blitz Nur Spec is what I run. Best sounding one in my opinion. Ymmv.
