Getting ready for my build
So I'm looking for thoughts on my build I have an auto 1992 Lexus sc300 with a blown head gasket. It is in great shape with 130k on the clock. I already have a gte motor with a 6 speed harness and aem v1. So my biggest issue that I'm not 100% sure about is my harness. I'm going to keep the car auto, and I know these are weak. I'm really trying to do a budget build here, so my main goal is getting it running right on low boost. I'm thinking treadstone cast mani with like a 62mm turbo. In the future I will look into getting a Built auto out of a supra. I already have a 67mm 6 speed supra so I'm not worried about hp numbers or beating on this car. I just want a fun reliable daily. What is recommended to do about my ecu and wire harness, and who should I use? I have been lurking here and the more I read the more I get confused lol. So should I ditch the aem v1 or will it work with the auto? Also if I don't beat on it how long do these autos last at around 400hp? Sorry if this has been talked about over and over just seems much of the info is from years ago thanks for any info.

First thing..Supra harness will not work on SC they are not PNP to the Sc chassis, they will need to be modify.
Its an auto car with manual harness it will need to be modify or just buy a new harness.
Aem v1 doesn't go a great job controlling the line of pressure on Auto trans.. You may wanna stay with the stock ecu or go V2.
V2 will not control auto trans if you are going to do Flex fuel, and as of today the V2 doesn't control the auto trans on supras/ sc . aem is working on it trying to figure it out..
It was an issue that came with the new firmware.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to sell or trade my 6 speed harness and aem, and run a stock ecu with an afc. I'm also looking for a supra turbo auto since I will be in the 500 hp range. I found a good deal on a phr kit with a 6766 turbo. So if I got a turbo auto harness what else would need to be changed?

What swap did you buy? is it just a motor or motor with trans?
Stock ECU will get the job done.
Aristo trans will get the job done easily, and you find them for $150-200 all day.
The supra body plugs and SC body plugs are completely different you will need a new harness from tweak .

I didn't buy a swap I have had many supras and have an older motor I had, I have no trans yet. I think I just found a usdm turbo supra auto trans for under 400 in great condition. So if I get a usdm auto harness I could use a supra ecu then just have tweek change my sc300 harnes to work?
