It's a pain, You have to pull the center shifter and radio console as well as the glove box then there is getting to the three 10mm bolt heads,..

The years with an airbag are alot harder. There are three wing nuts that can be very aggravating to deal with but doable.

What are you trying to do anyway? Paint it, or hide some gauges, or replace the cracked vent piece?

if your plasti dipping it then just do it with it on. unless your gonna do some legit work to it, it's not worth the hassle of taking it off

I wanted to spray the back of it too, just to add extra strength. I'll probably just spray it while its on the car now, seeing how it's too much work to pull it out

There is no such thing as extra strength with plastidip. Just tape and mask and spray.

Honestly if i were you I'd remove it and cover it with a vinyl wrap. It will have a more solid look to it and you wont have to worry about it peeling as easily as plastidip. Just my $0.02. I plan on removing mine and using some black vinyl that i picked up. or getting it painted. (Makes me wish i had one that did not come with the airbag.)

I wanted to spray around the edges. It should help prevent accidentally peeling

I don't really take anyone in my car. If I do, they know to be gentle with my car. I keep my cars in great shape

I considered it but plasti dip matches the air vents, door handles, and memory seat switch
