As with anything Toyota... if it was maintained it will run great. If not, you're gonna have alot of work cut out even if that car had 100k miles and was neglected by the owner. Check everything... leaking seals in the engine, check how tight it drives (indicator if suspension components and bushing were in good shape), leaking or noisy PS components, etc.
For me, my 92 SC 3 5spd had 219k when I sold it, and my 95 SC 3 5spd currently had 275k and still going strong. Maintenance and up keep is key! See if it was involved in any accidents, etc...Either way, good luck with your SC...I'd go over it with a fine tooth comb first!
Lastly welcome to CL, and a big shout to another Carolina member!

I'd steer clear, if they replaced the motor at 175k it wasn't maintained right. The naturally apsirated 2JZ is pretty darn bulletproof if maintained(that includes scheduled timing belt/water pump replacements).
Since somebody asked earlier about low mileage SC's, my 92 SC300 with the 5 speed has 64k miles, runs/drives/looks like a 1 year old car.
