Anyone with SC 300 over 200k miles?
Looking at trading my 98 cherokee, lift, wheels/tires etc......
for a 96 SC 300 w/ 233000 miles
How is your sc 300 runnning after that many miles???
Seller says pervious owner replaced engine at 175k, and has alot of new parts sence (brakes........take a look
)
Jeep will run for another 20k guaranteed w/ no extra maintence.....can I expect the same from the lexus?

As with anything Toyota... if it was maintained it will run great. If not, you're gonna have alot of work cut out even if that car had 100k miles and was neglected by the owner. Check everything... leaking seals in the engine, check how tight it drives (indicator if suspension components and bushing were in good shape), leaking or noisy PS components, etc.

Just over 200k here but my SC sure doesn't feel like it. I've done a LOT of maintenance and minor cosmetic work to what was already a very clean single owner car which I purchased with 189k on the clock. I needed every major maintenance job done, new clutch, new tires, a brake job and brake master cylinder among other things but the car itself? Dead reliable for a high mileage sporty car. As 97-SC300 said, it really depends on the maintenance the car in question has had but 2JZ-GE engines are very, very durable and IF maintained they certainly will go light years past 200k.
Check everything if you're considering this seriously. You could luck out and have a car someone always looked after but never assume. For instance, I didn't see a timing belt, water pump or thermostat replacement mentioned in the posting. Those are a must and should all be performed if you have no records of when it was last done. Power steering components are a common weak point of these cars but it's easily addressed if it's even an issue. Same with steering rack bushings and front lower control arms.
If there are no major to-do's for the car it should do 20k more and beyond, but you must check the car out and also see how it feels. The cosmetic stuff is self-explanatory and can all be repaired.
Last note, his estimate of 30 mpg highway with very ginger application of the gas is just a tad optimistic.

Mine is so close that it might as well be 200k already. Although it isn't perfect I can still try and clean out the throttle body and swap the spark plugs on it. I'm sure it can be better, it isn't terrible (Although maybe I'm just used to my SC and like to drive it hard :3)

Mine is at 140k. Not as much as the other members but i can tell you that ive been driving it for a year and all i had to do is change the oil. No issues what so ever. Like everyone says, as long as its been maintained you shouldnt have any issues. From looking at the post though, if the guy had to replace the motor at 175k means that he or the person who owned it before him must not have taken very good care of it. At least thats what it seems like to me. If you mechanically inclined it would be a good choice for $1800, otherwise i would suggest looking for a another deal, something more stock maybe.

My 98 SC300 I used to have had 221k on it when the hail storm took her out. A few weeks before that I had taken her on a 2000 mile road trip across the southwest and had not ONE concern with it. I had put new LCA bushing on it about 8 months prior to that. Other than that just oil changes and scheduled maintenance. I was hoping to see her pass 300k and I'd be close now if I still had it. But when it comes down to it, it all depends on how the car was taken care of.

I currently have 249,xxx miles on mine. A few things I replaced recently; while slowing and downshifting into 3rd gear the crankshaft pulley spun off of the harmonic balancer, the distributor o-ring needed to be replaced along with the second and third gear syncros, and the 5-speed's gear selector (stick) needed new bushings . Other than those issues the car runs great.

261900 miles, 1995 SC300.
Runs great! Gets anywhere between 19 - 24 MPG. Mostly around 22-23 MPG, I hit 24 MPG only twice since I bought the car on Sep 2.
Minor oil pan leak. And maybe I need to replace the oil pump, I have just posted a thread about the sound I am hearing at only a cold start up.
