I've been looking for a good repair/workshop manual for a 92 SC400 and had very little success. I currently own the cd version of Mitchell, and it SUCKS, there's very little information. What I would love to have is a Haynes, Chilton, or factory. I did find a factory manual at http://users.bigpond.net.au/startrade/ which is about $320 (us). I was hoping to pay around $100 or so for a QUALITY book or CD. I also have a motorcycle in which I purchased a factory shop manual for it which was a "knock off" , the guy had copied the entire book and had it bound for $30 each opposed to the original at $139. Is there anyone out there doing this for our cars? Any help with this is greatly appreciated!!!

I got the full set of 3 books (2 volumes of repair manuals and 1 volume of wiring diagrams) for my '93 sc4 from Carson Toyota for about $140 including freight. Worth every penny. The manuals are different for each year - your year might be 2 books instead of 3 -

Hey, you're a Lexus owner, for God's sake! Don't be such a cheapskate. The Lexus factory manuals are very complete, and will pay for themselves the first time you use it!

Go to irontoad.com and fill out the quote request form. I believe you can get the basic two manual Lexus factory set for under $100 plus shipping. I just got a quote but have not bought. I have bought other stuff from them and the price and service was real good.

Just because I'm a "Lexus owner" doesn't mean I want too blow money, I'm not "Cheap", just frugal. More or less what I was asking was, who has the best deal on a good manual. Evidently I CAN purchase the set for around $100-$140 after all. Hmm let me see I may have just saved $200+ dollars by asking a few people and it was well worth it. As far as the copied books go, Have you ever broken the law? You have an SC of course you speed on occasion, not only did you break the law but you also put lives in danger. Or have you ever downloaded a song using file sharing such as Kazaa, Morpheus, Napster or others, If you did I'm sure you sent the artist/record companies a check to make it right. So anyway thanks to all that actually helped!!

I do agree though that just because Im a Lexus owner doesnt mean Im cheap if I dont fork over $1000 for a new speedo because my little dumb $5.00 needles wont light up! LOL.

OH ***** MY BAD!! I was just so ticked about being called cheap and failed to notice the on the next line. Sorry bout that Legends. btw Mjr, I'm currently working on the LED problem. I've narrowed it down and located the correct parts needed to fix the needles. Give me a little time and I will post the directions and parts list for all to see........ except loose pockets philauldridge who i'm sure has shelled out the dough for a new speedo or even a digital from a Soarer.
