ROM Chips
#3
Does anyone know where to get ROM chips for inside the wireless door lock ECU and the keyless remote transmitter? I bought a brand new OEM single button remote key for my 94 SC300 and since 92-94 remotes are non-programmable, I need to find out where to get the matching ROM chips for the ECU and the actual key. Does anyone have the part numbers for them or know if I can get them at the dealer or something? Thanks in advance.

Ya, I thought you need to buy a key/fob with a matching FCC-ID to your car to get the key to work. When I was looking for a remote for my old '95 (it didnt have one), I was told I had to get this matching FCC-ID. Each key should have this number on it, and it has to match the FCC-ID on your door/alarm/lock (whatever it is) ECU. This ECU can be found underneath the passenger side rear window (behind the inside panel), and it'll have the ID number on it.
Unless its different for the older models?
