Well if you have water in your oil then you more than likely have a blown head gasket. There could be a slim chance you have a cracked head. You will have to tear down the motor and get the heads off. Then send the heads off to get machined. they will magnaflux the head to check for cracks. if no cracks you should be ok to resurface the cylinder head and put a new gasket on. Make sure to have the valve seats and guide seals looked at. (might as well since you got it all apart)

This will be a labor intensive job. Pull out your pocket book on this one. Make sure you go the extra mile on this job, if not you may be back in the motor again. (oy ya if you got a few miles on teh car go ahead and change the timing belt, tensor, and water pump) Once again you are already in the motor.)

Wow, sorry to hear that. With a head gasket you are usually looking at $1k-1500 already, and hopefully the head isnt cracked itself, or else you could prob. double or triple that amount.

No, actually your engine should be good as new then Id think. Really when someone's engine goes bad, its a result of bad headgasket or cracked head...but if you get those done to new condiition, you should be fine.

Default oil

Water in your oil is easy to spot. Oil should look milky when you drain it.

If you have a blown head gasket, open the hood and listen to your engine run. Have someone rev it up a few times. If its blown bad, you may hear a wooshing sound. If your gasket is blown, get it fixed and DO NOT run your engine until you do. If you don't have a cracked head, driving with a blown gasket will increase the chances that your head will crack, easily tripleing your repair costs. A cracked head can cause water leakage into the combustion chamber. Look for white water vapor exiting the tailpipe. Don't confuse that with normal condensation from your mufflers that drips out when you first crank it in the morning. Hope this helps & good luck.

Default Let's start at the beginning.

Who told you that you had water in your oil?

Maybe, like rushgator2112 said, it is just normal condensation, the type that does not burn off if you only take short trips.

Is your cooling system losing water/coolant?

Don't rush into an expensive head job without knowing what kind of "water" is in your oil and how much there is in there! Unless you've just burned it all off with a long drive down the freeway, everyone has some water in their oil.

my neighbor is a retired mechanic. . he said there was a leak coming fro the water pump, leaking coolant, which probably overheaded the engine to an extend that cracked the head gasket and mostly the head plus he also said it changed the compression something to the radaitor. . and when he checked the oil and showed me. . it looked like chocalate milk. . plus i just gota hold of an engine with 60k miles on it for $700 soo i'll just probably do the swap.. . . and a new radaitor. .
