Default Stupid PW problem

Ok so I have a 94 sc300 and my passenger window doesn't work. When I put power to the motor it works but niether switch will work. The switch only works to make it go up but not down. Could the motor be bad or a wiring problem somewhere?

It could be either the wiring OR the master switch. The ground path for the passenger window operation is routed through the master (driver side) switch. In my case, I had a passenger window that would only go down, but not up on either switch. After verifying the motor functioned fine, I was thinking it was the wiring in the door jambs. I traced all that out and found it was still good. Then I followed the circuit path back to the master switch and found it to be bad. Swapped it out and it's been fine since. The FSM has a good troubleshooting section on the window operation.

I'd check the wires in the door jamb prior to buying a switch. Mine was snapped in half.

+1 that's probably more common than a bad switch

Would that matter if the switch only works one way?

^^ It's been a while since I worked on mine, but if my memory serves me correctly, the answer is YES, a broken wire could cause a 'one-way' only fault too.
