COME ON I KNOW SOMEONE WANTS TO CALL ME AN ******* SO LET'S HAVE IT.
there is a ltiitle more than that.
It's more like wiring an amp than you describe.
but, yeah, I've installed acouple, and I know how easy it really is. it's the little things that deserve attention (where to run the lines, what spot's best to drill., why you use a grommet, etc. etc.)

but you did come across as (insert whatever asterisk masked word you meant) in the last few posts.

This seems like a good DIY project. Look at any decent boat installation for ideas about securing and protecting the battery and cables as well as cut offs, shut offs, and overcurrent protection.

dang, i'm bringing up a thread from the grave. i mean almost a half decade ago old. haha.
anyways, i just wanted to verify im gonna do it right.

when 1siksc said 4 wires, i'm thinking its 1 for ground, 3 for positive. one to alternator, one to starter, and one to fusebox. i just a picture to show how it would be. is this right? or am i wrong?

You are way over doing it man.. if you get one 2 gauge wire running from the stock battery + location up front to the battery in the back, and a short ground wire from the battery to the chassis, and ground the stock - to the chassis in the front of the car, you will be fine. Me and a million others have done it this way with no issues. If you want to add the weight of a ton of wire though, go right ahead. just make sure to scratch the paint off of wherever you put your big ground lugs. For safety you can add a 250 amp inline fuse at the battery (should be sufficient so the starter doesn't blow it), so if the new battery + wire somehow shorts out due to an insulation rub somewhere in the run through your car, then you won't burn it down. If you have three wires running to the battery, then maybe put three fuses.. lol.
