So I modified the auto is300 e-shift buttons to become the actual cruise control functions. Was pretty easy. Four separate switches, perfect if you look at diagrams. Eliminate the stalk, cleaner look imo. can always have the buttons carbon/wood/color dipped, or not give a ****! Horn works, everything else should. Waiting to find a guinea pig as gf's sc doesnt have a cruise control cable and is getting an rx tan/wood wheel, so this one was only fit to test initial function and is now for sale.
P.S.
My airbag light is on because I don't have the adapter. VIDEO BELOW, DON'T KNOW HOW TO EMBED

An easy way to get a "manual" wheel is to buy one of the leather ones from one of the following Toyotas and use an IS airbag if you want to have the "L" logo.
2001-2005 IS300
1998(?)+ Toyota Rav4
All years MR2 Spyder
1st gen Toyota Matrix XRS
1st and 2nd gen Corolla XRS
1998 Supra
The airbags themselves have the same hardware inside. On the outside the IS300 airbag has the most differences. The 1998+ RAV4 airbag and 1998 Supra airbag are very similar to the IS300 in shape but obviously have only a plain Toyota symbol.

Just installed my RX300 steering wheel. Got it on eBay for $180 shipped (it came with the airbag).
Only thing wrong with it is that it didn't come with the plastic covers that cover the airbag bolts, but I can get those from Lexus for about $7 for both so that's no worry.
Haven't plugged the airbag in yet, I'm gonna order the adapter instead of just changing the plug from the RX to the SC wheel (just to keep all the parts together). Plus the adapter is only $20 from this website http://www.handsontools.com/OTC-Tool...-_p_49780.html
I also haven't swapped the cruise control lever out because the cruise control wasn't working with the old steering wheel anyway. After I got a remote starter installed the cruise would arm but wouldn't set. I'll probably swap the cruise control over when I install the airbag adapter anyway though.

bumping this thread because I need some insight. hopefully I can finally get a response.
so I picked up a whole steering wheel/airbag from a 01 Toyota celica.
I also found a 97 sc300 wheel and I took it off for comparison(mind you I have a 1994 sc400) bit things should be the same. here is the airbag config of the sc300
and here is the wire setup from the celica
the splines are the same(of course). but iam looking at the hubs and they look different(do I need the celica hub)?
I picked it up anyway but it feels flimsy compared to the sc's.
here is the sc one on the left
here are the backs of them
I have the pigtails from both wheels and I plan to solder the end piece into my wheel column. so guys, do I need the celica hub or can I use the hub on my car?
