Default Is it the relay or switch?

Okay since I bought my car the trunk release hasn't work from the inside, so last night me and a buddy tracked down the problem, the trunk switch was unplugged so I plugged it in, this morning noticed the trunk was open, every time I started the car the trunk would unlock, so my question is do you think the relay or actual switch is bad. I looked at it and the relay keeps activating the switch once it gets HOT power to it. I'm up in the air as to which one it is and rather nail down the problem instead of replacing both things.

relay only works if triggered. First verify it is not locked in the triggered position, then verify it is not getting a trigger signal.
