I read on another forum that as of last year, extended warranties can no longer be purchased out of state. Below is the specific post that I am referring to. Is this correct? Extended warranties can no longer be purchased from Jerry Johnson or Troy Dietrich unless you live in their respective states?


"I bought a new Toyota last week and called Troy to get his prices on extended warranties. He informed me that Toyota/Lexus have a new policy of not allowing VSAs to be sold across state lines. Apparently the other dealers were getting annoyed at not being able to sell VSAs at stupidly inflated prices, so they pressured Toyota/Lexus into changing their policies. This is a real bummer."

You have to show up in person with the vehicle. The warranty seller needs to confirm the mileage. You can drive to them, but don't have to live there. That's what I was told in November .
