Samsung Galaxy S5/S5 Sport versus iPhone 6
I own a 2013 RX350 with Navigation. I am debating whether to get a Samsung Galaxy S5/S5 Sport or an Apple iPhone 6.
Does either the iPhone 6 or the Galaxy S5 offer all the bluetooth capabilities available in a 2013 RX350? Currently, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and it pairs easily - no drops, has no issues streaming audio, reads out SMS messages to me, shows caller id on the screen, etc. I am assuiming the S5 can do all this but do want to check with real users before getting tied into a contract. Also, can all these be achieved with the iPhone6?

No, I don't play soccer!
elba123, have you checked the Lexus website for compatibility? It's probably your best source of information. Other members can chime in with their experience.

Siva, I have a Galaxy S5 and prior have had an Evo 4G and and most recently the HTC4G LTE. All have worked perfectly in my Lexus with no issues in connectivity through Bluetooth or USB. That being said, I used them only for phone use. My music in all of my cars (for the last 5 years) has streamed from an iPod touch I keep in each car and connect with USB.
USB connections seem most reliable for music 'and' calls and keep all the units at full charge. Because of the security (for purchases) and battery life the new Apple 6+ has a good chance to be my next 'new' thing when I've had S5 one long enough to qualify. And maybe the 160GB is appealing too .
Have fun choosing

We moved from GS3s to GS5s recently with our 2014 RX350 without any problems or issues. We deleted the old phones and then paired the new phones. Phone and text messages work fine. Music is from a thumb drive in the USB port but I do stream programs using the Dog Catcher app and that also works well.

I switched over from an iPhone 4S to S5 and there are no issues. Contacts synced perfectly and music plays just fine but sometimes when I start to play music, the volume level on my phone gets set to the lowest setting. Not sure why.

It seems starting with ios8 or ios8.2 on the iphone, the actual volume on the iphone also effects the car volume. Hard to explain.....
It doesn't actually change the car volume, but if your iphone volume is low, you can have the car volume on 40 and will still barely be able to hear it.
In the past, it didn't matter what the phone volume was set at - it always just depended on the car volume.
Something obviously got messed up.
One plus on the iphone is Siri Eyes Free mode (press a button on the steering wheel and ask her what you want).
