2012 keeps losing my phone contacts

This is the second time this year my 2012 has lost my phone contacts. What could be causing this. I have an Iphone 5c.

Recent update to ios8. If you have too many contacts stored the car sometimes will freeze up during the syncing process. Try removing device. Go to menu, general and scroll down and select "delete personal info". Then cycle key and repair the phone to vehicle.
