Thanks for mentioning Carista, Tom. Yes, our app supports this setting - it supports settings 14, 15, and 16 from the PDF from a few posts up. However, these settings will show up only if the car supports them. I've got test data from two 2010 RXs and neither of them supports the "Power back door assist". I also have test data from Tom's 2014 and that one does support it. I'm pretty sure the dealer's software shows these settings in the same conditions in which Carista shows them. So you can try it and see if your car supports them.
The main one you're looking for is called "Rear hatch open assistance" in Carista.
So what I'd recommend is to get one of those Bluetooth OBD dongles from Amazon for around $10 and try it with Carista. Probably cheaper than all the gas you're spending by going around different dealers. Once you have the dongle, Carista will show you the available settings on your car for free. If you want to start changing settings, you have to purchase the Pro Package for $19.99 (once) and then you can make an unlimited number of setting changes as you please.
Now, if it turns out your car doesn't support this setting, it's theoretically possible that it could be made to support it by reflashing the back door ECU with newer software. But I don't know whether in this particular case it's just a matter of software reflash or whether they actually changed the type of module or something in the hardware. Carista does not do software reflashing, just setting changes.
