need advice buying used RX450h 2010
I always wanted RX450h but it was way out of my budget so I waited and was searching for used one.
I found one today that sounds way too good to be true but then, it might not.
let me know if this is worth it. 2010 RX450h base. 130km (80miles)
-lexus dealership sells it for 25g plus tax
-1 accident history 2013 (9000 dollar damage front end) professionally fixed and inspected by lexus.
-base model(no extra options like nav) it does have leather, sunroof though.. other than that, barebone for lexus standard
what do you think guys? aye or noway
Thanks

The pursuit of F
If you check the Canadianblackbook.com trade-in value, it ranges from $19K- $24K, for the mileage and base model 450h in question. Since this is an accidented/repaired vehicle, it has been considered the bottom-end of the $ range when the previous owner traded it in. In essence, the dealer is looking to get 6K profit which is high relative to the value of the RX. If you're comfortable with the repair and want to buy it, a reasonable offer would be $23K. Make sure you get maintenance records as well since you want to be as sure as you can you're confident in purchasing the vehicle.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Am I reading this right? Only 80 miles on a 2010 RX450h ? It sat on the dealer's lot for three years, then the new owner wrecked it on the way home from the dealership? What maintenance records will it have, it never got driven.
Please clarify my confusion.

I guess it depends how much you really want an "h". I looked at the website corrado mentioned and while it showed the trade in price, it also shows the average asking price for a 2010 RX450h with 130K at about $30,000. It seems the history of the vehicle is already priced into the asking price. I realize you show your location as Alberta, but I did an Ontario search for fun, 2010 RX450h are rare, and super-rare to find one under $30,000. It seems the differential in pricing between the 350 and 450h is holding fairly well into the used car market, here anyway. Go ahead and try offering the price corrado suggests. You have 1 thing going for you, the history will scare away half the people and leave the other half (you for example) willing to buy based on a good deal. To avoid not getting a good deal though, you may have to be willing to walk away.

Another question to have answered via the history report is when did the dealer put it up for sale? If it's been sitting around for a while, then maybe people are scared away for good reason. I'm not sure what $9k in damage gets you north of the border but worth taking into account.
Also any reservations you are having about this vehicle will come back if you try to sell it later on. So factor that in as well if you are not planning to keep it for any significant length of time.
Would strongly urge to get an extended warranty if you can as well.

I read the OP as 130,000km (80,000miles). Connan23 is so excited about the possibility of owning a third generation Lexus RX, he forgot the zeros. : )
