Do you need NAV to make this work on a '14, or just the "upgraded" radio?

thanks

Nav or the "Lexus Display Audio" for Siri, Nav for messaging.

I'm not sure but will try it later and figure it out. Usually when it pops up with a message, I just click "Play", rather than waiting to see if it returns to the nav function on its own.

Thanks JDR76. Maybe the wife missed the message. And it goes back to music within a certain time? When I drive the 350 I usually run the Nav. Map and Music so it is split screen.

Thanks JDR76. I spent some time last night in the '14 and the message bar isn't as large as the '13 your showing if I remember correctly...had a few of these. Thanks for taking the time to do that! One thing I didn't remember to check was how long the timeout lasted when the message came across the screen and stopped the music.

You're very welcome.

As for how long it lasts, I am not sure. I didn't have a lot of time. I sat there for a minute or two, not making any selection, and it stayed there. I didn't have time to wait it out. I'll try it again when I have more time.

I have a '14 ES 300h with Nav and an iPhone 5S with latest firmware, and mine also shows me the text messages and (if I remember correctly) reads them to me, but will not allow me to reply or read my email - I hear that Android supports those features. I can also interact with texts via Siri via Eyes Free.

Quick question related to Siri Eyes Free: I'm having an issue where after I leave the vehicle, Eyes Free stays active on my iPhone. I can tell this because there's a purple bar at the top of the screen. The only way I have found to fix this is to power off/on my phone. Is anyone else having this problem?

I believe this is a bug. You can invoke siri, then press home again to un-invoke her, and it should clear it up - beats having to restart your phone. Hopefully apple can come up with a fix, but I'm not completely positive it's an apple problem.

Oh, that's a great idea! Don't know why I didn't think to try it. Next time it happens I'll give that a go. Thanks!

jakepdx, are you implying you cannot respond to messaging? With our iPhones 5 when there is a message we can reply by holding down the "off hook" button and Siri will send the message.

You're absolutely right - Siri will let us reply. I just meant it wasn't possible to do so via the Lexus screen or using Lexus' Quick Replies, as I believe it is possible when using current Android phones.
