New owner - question about Enform
Hey everyone,
I just picked up a used "13 RX350. I am not able to read texts or emails on my screen. I called Lexus Enform, and they told me it is because I have an i-phone. So my question is: will I be able to read texts and emails from the NAV screen if I switch over to a Samsung Galaxy S4?

If you can't read your messages, you may try this:
go to bluetooth settings on your phone, Click on "Car multimedia - your lexus bluetooth" and turn the Show notification "ON" Restart both phone and car"
Good Luck

checking firmware?
Had my 5K checkup. Dealer says I have latest firmware but now I still have the bug with the SMS whereby it does not display incoming message on screen (randomly) but does read it aloud ok.
Lexus tech had told me it was part of the update for Nav system (not sure why) and they traced my VIN and showed I had not received latest update to fix the issue. Dealer tells me there was a notice for a firmware update but that I already have it.
So I am left confused...
How does one check the firmware version in the 2013 450h (and find out what latest rev is)?

Lexus tech says I need an update to the nav system to fix the issue of not seeing the Reply button. They said the new firmware update will come out in later September or so and they will let the dealer know not to charge me and to update it (I guess via flash drive).
No word yet on what the text is not displayed randomly however. He will check into that.
BTW - Lexus tells me that the Reply button will only show up when you select "Read" from an incoming message (pop up) window. It will not be available when you select a message from the list (e.g., archived list).

Try Setup / General / Software Update - following these steps on my navigation screen shows me the current versions.
BTW, I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I just took the 4.3 upgrade. My text messages are working like a charm now. Text messages incoming and sending, everything is working on my 13' RX F Sport.

Thanks. not sure how I didn't find that.
Mine says:
Model: 11LHENNA-AZ01
Nav: V6613850 --
Blue Tooth 21.210 --
Map Update --- --
So not sure why dealer said I had latest Firmware when I do not see a Firmware listed here. But the Nav is listed and that is what I recall Lexus Tech telling me I needed to be updated.
I got the new Android 4.3 update to my S3 as well but still have the random display issues (as before).

Works with Samsung Galaxy S4
If I recall correctly, it does not work when you are on the phone. Also, the text is visible only if you are stopped such as at a red light. While driving, it will only read out the message. As soon as you stop, you can see the message.
You can reply using any of the 20 pre-canned messages. You can edit, change and save these messages permanently.

I feel a bit stupid as my son noted that the incoming text message seems to be displayed on the screen when we are stopped (not moving). It is read aloud in both cases. So maybe this is by design by Lexus <?> although I could not find it in the manual nor did the Lexus Tech nor dealer mention it.
I am curious if this is by design as I would guess maybe they do not want you to look a the screen to read the incoming message?
But there are preset messages that you have to look at the screen to select so that safety factor doesn't make sense. Also I think you can turn off the read aloud.
Thx
