RH 450H Fuel Tank and Tire Pressure
I have a question.
The manual for the 450H does not agree with what I am experiencing.
1. The Manual says the fuel capacity is 17 gal, but with an empty tank the most I can put the tank is around 14 gallons. What is the real capacity, and why does the manual say 1y7 gallons.
2. For my 450H with 19 inch wheels the manual says tire pressure should be 33 psi.
However, when delivered from the factory the tire were 39 psi. What should the tire capacity be?
There seems to examples throughout the manual of conflicting information.

2. I think that the manual is only a generalization. The sticker inside your driver's side door will have the number you want. The weight of the car will vary depending on options chosen and that should impact the pressure recommendation.

what do you mean empty tank? needle on the E? below the E?
as wa3cuj have mentioned, there's a "reserve fuel" after the needle hits the lowest possible line below the "E" on the fuel gauge. Roughly 2 gallons, which is more than enough to drive to the nearest gas station.
IF you really want to measure your gas tank. DRIVE the RX to the ground, until the last drop of fuel. ( ideally in a parking lot) then start measuring.

That's not advisable on a hybrid. In the manual it states that running it dry can cause problems. When the computer tells the ICE (internal combustion engine) to start it's an instantaneous procedure. It won't work if there isn't any gas and pressure at the injectors. Doing that will likely result in a trip on a flat bed to the dealer. And it's not warranty.
what was your cruising range at this point?

The tank will hold the larger amount of fuel however, you can not get all of it out of the tank. The fuel pump is in the tank and they use the gas to keep the pump from running hot or pumping dry.
