I haven't seen this discussion topic yet - has anyone installed any metal guards underneath their engine? This piece covers or replaces the plastic piece nearest to the floor, similar to a brush guard, but more integrated into the car. A good example is in the upper left hand corner of this webpage on the RX350 there.

That part is available in Europe and Australia. IIRC the price was around $500. Add in shipping and the final cost would be closer to $700. And it's plastic, not metal.
