What a Shopping Trip
Went to the dealer to trade in my wife's 2003 RX 300 for a left-over 2012 (in Tungsten Pearl) and wound up trading in my 2009 RX 350 for a newly arrived 2013 in Starglazer Black.
First car I've ever had with a black interior (the previous 3 RXs I drove all had the tan/parchment interior). Am curious to see how I'll like it longterm.
Never thought when I bought my first new car exactly 40 years ago (for 3K) for that I'd once spend more than 90K (before trades) for 2 vehicles on the same day.
We have a Lexus dealer 5 mins from our house, but we choose to give our business to dealers more than 100 miles away because they're much more eager to deal. The dealer where I bought these 2 cars said they'll even pick up and deliver for service. (It's exactly 2 hours each way), though I doubt we'll avail ourselves of that service.
Wife is thrilled with her new car, which was a total surprise to her.

Good looking pair there. I'm partial to the Stargazer (as that's what I have ordered); but they're both sweet.
Props for putting up a pic with your first post. Nice setting for them too.

No, I don't play soccer!
Welcome to CL, 2alanrob2. Congrats on the his and hers RXs. I like the colors. Don't worry about the black interior. I've had it for almost ten years without issue. And it looks sharp. Enjoy.

Alan, good job on getting it done with 2 . Now that's what I call living large.

Lexus Test Driver
Congrats on the new purchases. Why would someone own 2 of the same vehicles at the same time? I like change and would never have my wife drive the same exact vehicle as me even though they are great and reliable but it comes back to having a change.....?

Thanks. Was planning to get two 2012 closeouts, but the 2013 had some features I wanted that weren't available in the remaining 2012s. Have also told the Mrs. she can drive the 2013 whenever she likes, but she's too busy currently enjoying her 2012.
