Beginner's Nav/Audio Question
I just bought my first Lexus--a 2012 RX 350. I was just looking today but the dealer really wanted to sell this car and gave a fabulous price and over-paid me for my trade in. So here I am!
So, driving home from the dealer, I got the Nav to lead the way. Then I turned on XM and pressed text so I could see the names of the songs. But the display kept switching back to the Setup menu display. Does that sound normal?
Thanks.. I love the car but I'm a little overwhelmed with all the gizmos.

Michael, congratulations on your great choice for a new car and welcome to the C/L RX forum.
It's a pretty high tech and complex machine. A lot of the options can be set by the owner through the NAV system. Most of us can help you but it's important that you spend some time in the books with it too. I'm sure you noticed by now there is a lot of good reading to do that's good for insuring a good nights sleep . But after that try spending some time in the drive way with them and going through many of the features you know you'll use.
Many features are so new to cars, it took me quite a while to get comfortable w/o the book. On occasion I still need help .

MNP, please ask the questions after doing a little searching. I for one learn a few new things everytime someone asks a question even if it has been asked. RTFM is only one of the options you haveto get answers and your right the manual is a bit onerous. I think I get an extra MPG by not dragging it around with me.

I just wish I could download the whole manual(s) to my computer. It would make searches easier.

You dont need to download the manual. Its on the Lexus Drivers web page. Just sign up. And you can search all the PDFs online.

Yes, I don't need to download the manuals, but I would like to. I find it cumbersome to search, get ten pdf's and have to word search each one to find what I'm looking for. But then perhaps I'm doing it wrong?
