RX350 & speech commands
I'm sorry if this is already answered but I have search this and other forums, went to Lexus' website and even went in and talked to a salesperson. But the salesperson said he didn't know if the RX350 had the speech capabilities I'm asking for.
I have a 2011 Ford Taurus with the Sync. Just for those that don't know what Sync is..... You can push a button and tell it who to call and where (i.e. home or cell). Also you can tell it what to play. I have a USB attached hard drive and I can push the Sync button and tell it to play a specific artist, genre, playlist or song. Can this be done with either the second or third generation RX350's??? And if so do I need the navi?? Do I need the Mark Levison edition stereo??
I would think if Ford does it that Lexus would be miles ahead.
Just a side note. I owned a 2005 RX330 but after both my husband and I were laid off and the RX330 needing a some expensive repairs, I had to sell it. Now I'm regretting it as I'm missing my Lexus. Finances are much better so now considering getting another one. Looking at the 2010/2011 RX350 but need to know if it has these speech commands.
Thanks for your time.

No Lexus can play a song via voice command. Its not as advanced as Ford's Sync. You can however use it to call someone. you would said, call ____ , or dial _____.
That said, if you have an iphone, you can do something similar. Pushing and holding the HOME button on the iphone brings up the voice control from the phone, but this also connects to the car's voice commands so through that you can say, play song _____, or play songs by _____. Its a little more clunky since you have to take out your phone but its a little bit of a step forward

I have an Android phone that can bluetooth
Thanks for your quick response. I have an Android phone that can bluethooth to the car and stream music. It has voice commands. So I guess I could use the voice commands on the phone to tell it what to play and then it would stream it via bluetooh? Is this correct?
Not as easy or safe as pushing a button on the steering wheel but it would still work.
