Lighted sills, that is
Now that the wicked winter weather is finally gone I bought the illuminated sills from Sewell. Installation was a breeze, the old sills popped right out. Knew I'd find a use for the overpriced Lexus pry tool one day I swapped the clips from the old sills to the new sills. The plug was right there. A few clicks and the sills were back in. All done. It took maybe a few minutes if that.
I didn't want the sills to clash with the LED lights inside so I went with white instead of blue. The match is perfect and I really love the dimensional look to the letters in Lexus.

Whoa, wait a minute. The electrical connection is a plug and it's right there??
The instructions I read some where, showed a convoluted jumble of wiring you had to sort out and make splices.
And the tool? What tool?
I missed this class. Where are the right instructions for this.
Thanks.

Thanks
MEP, if you had to put up with all the snow I do you would have waited. I will switch back when the weather turns again.
Me too. I miss them from the '04. At least these aren't orange. They look much nicer too. My **** retentive matchy matchy personality prevented me from getting blue
I though it was the two door illuminated sill club

Here is the lovely Lexus pry tool - http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2010/3372.html Anything similar should work.
The key is to remove the white clips out of the old sills and put them on the new sills. The new sills have the white clip and the black piece they snap into (shown in the picture below).

Like DunWkg above, I would like a little more information. Are they simply plug and play or do you have to splice wires. What is the "special" tool that is needed? I have a set of trim tools. How do you get to pick the color of lighting. I think that I would like the white that you have, but I am not sure. Finally, what was the cost from Sewell. Thanks in advance for the help.

cafpaf, yes this is a great group
Here is the link to the sills:

The sills come in both white and blue. Just make sure you select the correct interior color (black, grey or ivory). The price is $399 if you have an account with them.

Yes, the wiring is already there. I just used my fingers to pull up on the door sill to remove it. A lot of popping and snapping but it worked. Mine came with the illuminated door sills but had to remove them to put in the sound deadening.
Good Luck
