This.

If you want to feel the cooling, you should turn the AC on and direct it at the floor. The fans just push air from under the seat at your butt.

I thought it sucked air down away from your butt

Youre not really supposed to feel any coldness, however, its supposed to stop you back from getting sweaty.

That's what the Benz deal told me. However, I rode in a friends Infiniti M and I could feel cool all over.

The cooling seats in my IS250 can get downright chilly at times...

'Cooling' seats is an incorrect term. The seats don't put out cool air, all they do is direct cabin air thru the seat perforations. You want colder air, turn the A/C temp down and direct it at the floor. This is different from the heat mode where heat is actually generated in the seats. Big difference in the outcome, which is why Lexus calls them 'heated and ventilated' seats and not 'heated and cooled' seats.

They are "ventilated" seats, not "air conditioned" seats. It only takes the air from the cabin. The seats don't have a seperate cooling system. Just fans that blow air through the seats.

Evitzee beat me too it.

I have a 450h and my cooled seats have to be kept very low. The nerves in my back tighten up from the cold.
When I read all the issues and inconsistencies we all have with our cars I think Lexus is a company that sells by great marketing and poor quality cars.
I can't say I will buy another car from them.
My Nav/Radio are fair at best. I'm finding myself frustrated.

For goodness sake, if the cool air is screwing up your back TURN THEM OFF, or set them on low heat if you want to warm your back. You don't have to have them on.
