Protect those fog lights $!$!$!

It's not glass. If something hits it hard enough to break it, Laminix won't help but you may need a body shop. The new acrylic materials are a lot better than the old days. They won't discolor or go hazy like they used to.
Now the fog light lens is glass and low to the ground where it's subject to catch more road debris. It can use protection.

Tough break,E.
Good advice.
I went with this vinyl protection after reading that thread at the time.No guarantee against lens breakage but some protection that may help.

Must have sent you the wrong size because I had to trim excess.
I ordered the fog light application for my 2010 RX450h and the lamin-x was approximately 0.3 inches too small in diameter where it did not cover the entire lens . Not looking good when the optic blue color acryllic has 0.15 inches of clear lens surrounding it around the circumference. l am checking to see if anyone else might have applied the L116 part # where it was not the correct size. I sent lamin-x an e-mail to get their response. I just wonder if they put the incorrect cutout in the wrong package ? I also ordered a set for my 2008 Acura TL and the fit was perfect for the fogs.

I had yellow Headlight Armor on both the RX and the IS. After a year (with a lot of nighttime driving) I had to take the vinyl off of both. There was a dark smoke spot in the middle where the glue had actually started to burn on both cars. Spent a lot of time with naphthalene getting the burnt adhesive off the fogs. I'm guessing the glass lenses get much hotter than the plastic lenses on our old IS250.

Lamin-x responded to my memo about the fog light cut templates being too small on my
RX450h. They said they do not make the template for the RX450h, but only for the RX350 which is smaller in size for the fog lights. I can get a sheet of the material and cut to size myself. Not sure how yours fit unless the early model 450h had different size vs. my March, 2010 manufacturing date.

I think that's their excuse but not a good one. I'm not sure but if you measure, I think the only difference will be the chrome trim around the lights on the 450h. If so then you can contact them back and inform they they sent the wrong ones. Mine work and I'm pretty sure the lights are still the same. So do Anita's and all the other 450h owners that I'm aware of.

Pole Position
Yesterday a car in front of me ran over a piece of tire and it flew up and hit my front bumper near the fog light im so happy its not broken but that was close. I will need to order this too.

Interesting in that my original order was # L116 also which was too small. They sent me a replacement 4 x 8 inch sheet for me to cut out my own template since they said the L116 will only fit the RX350. I must have got the wrong Lamin-X person to reply to me since others obviously have the correct cut-out/template when ordering the L116 for the RX450h. I will now see if I can cut a template/pattern out that fits well when I replace the incorrect sized template.

I wished that I can take the light out and apply at better. Oh well, it works just fine.

After viewing this thread I ordered a set for the RX and also a set for my Infinity EX. While applying them to my EX I was surprised how pitted the lights were from just 2 years of driving. The laminate my not protect the lights from a big stone but at least will help with all the little stuff you're not even aware of hitting the front of your vehicle. Definitely a wise investment.

I just got a new 2013 RX and went to the website to order but they do not have anything listed beyond 2012. Anyone have a source for these for a 2013 model? Also I saw the comment about the burning of the adhesive. In our RX the fog lights com eon when the headlights do. I think I saw an option to turn that off but I was going to leave it on for safety. This of course means they will be heating up quite a bit. Anyone else have a problem with the covers burning or scorching?
Thanks

The lens are the same size so you can go ahead and order. Plus you'll have to trim a slight amount anyway. As far as heat it's never been a problem and the bulbs are halogen which do get kinda warm, but no issues at all after 3+ years.
