Something weird with my A/C and Lexus Assistance incompetence
I left for a trip from S. Cal to Colorado. While in the dessert the A/C little by little stopped working.
First some white smoke came out of the vents and then the car was getting warmer and warmer.
I stopped in Yuma and called Lexus Assistance. Their solution was for me to go back home and wait till Monday (the incident happened on a Saturday) and therefore destroy my vacation. They also said that since the car is driveble the A/C is not esssential (even though it was 102 outside and I had two kids with me) I will not get a loaner from them. They also mentioned that there are cars outthere without A/C, to which I replied that I don't know any in the $50K range.
Awfull service
Anyway, I decided to keep going and I turned off the A/C for about 20 minutes. After that everything was back to normal:confused
Should I report this to Lexus? What could have happened?

What model & year is your Lexus? You should definitely take it to the dealer and if anything have them check it out.
My '01 IS300 was famous for AC problems. While driving, the car made a huge jerk (as if I downshifted from 5 to 2), the AC light started blinking, then warm air blew. The compressor went out. After getting that fixed, not even a month later, after starting the car and driving, the AC wasn't cold at all. One of the hoses was leaking. After that, no problems.

most definitely report your story to your local dealership management, as well as Lexus Corporate - also, if you've yet to receive your JD Powers & Lexus Dealership surveys use this incident as leverage when dicussing the incident with the dealership - make sure to let them know you'll be less than favorable when filling out the surveys and make sure you document everything that occurs - I'm sure in the long run Lexus will make it right.
