Talking New 330 Owner

Well, my wife and I will be picking up our Neptune Blue with Grey/Black interior tomorrow (Sat 4/26). We got the FWD model since this will be driven as if it were an ordinary Sedan. Plus we would have had to order and wait 3-4 month if we got the AWD. We also didn't get any other options aside from the Premium Plus package. Since we are in Hawaii, nagivation is not offered and so no reverse camera option as well. We also can't get the 18" rims yet as it is not offered at this time by the Hawaii Lexus dealer. Basically, we just got whatever the Premium Plus package has. The most importent thing to me anway is the motorized hatch and HID lights.

I read all about the engine vibration and some other complaints some have posted, but at least on the test drive it felt fairly smooth. I also drive an NSX with a stiff suspension and low profile tires so anything in comparison would be a pretty smooth and isolated ride anyway

This is my first SUV type car and I thought I would never own one, but my wife and I are expecting out first baby and she wanted a new/better/bigger car (We traded in her 95 BMW 325i) and thus the Lexus. I'm actually looking forward to picking up this car since it is what she wanted and she let me get my NSX so I owe it to her

Congrats, you'll be very happy with your 330.

It will actually be faster than the 325i that it is replacing! And much more practical as well. Just what the doctor ordered for your upcoming family.

Aaah, finally a "Hawaiian" on the board!?! CK6speed, you must be on Oahu, cause there's hardly any NSX's here on Maui, and I haven't seen a Neptune Blue 330 on the lot here.

Doesn't that SUCK, that the best we can get is the Prem. Plus pack!?! It's actually all I need, but what I truly want is the 18" graphite-polished wheels, which is forbidden in Hawaii!

I'm dealing w/ a Lexus dealership in LA to try and get my baby here, a Millennium Silver, black leather, w/ Prem. Plus & 18" wheels. Having to obide by the "Servco Pacific Government, I mean Communistic Rules" requires some extra steps

Congrats to you, though!

Hey thanks. I should be picking it up in about 10 hours. I would have gave up the roof racks and rain sensing wipers for the 18" rims though. Oh, well. That's what the aftermarket is for.

HIDs do come with the Premium Plus package. Here is the info from Lexus.com

Premium Plus Package -- $3,4402

Leather-trimmed interior
Power tilt-and-telescopic steering column with memory
Roof rack with rails
Illuminated entry system
Power tilt-and-slide moonroof with one-touch open/close and sliding sunshade
Power rear door
High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps
Wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift ****

Yes, I'm on Oahu. I think there are at least 6 or more NSXs on Maui. There is even a Midnight Pearl (Purple ish) Twin Turboed NSX on Maui.

I hear you on the 18" rims. I'm happy with what I got though. I can always add things on at a later date.

Good luck with yout deal with the mainland dealer. At least shipping to Hawaii could be a little cheaper since Matson will lower their fuel surcharge. CSX would probabaly do the same.

Yes, don't tell the BMW owners but while the car was a good car it is nothing special. My wife and I couldn't trade the 325i in any faster Things started to go out on the BMW and it would have started to cost some good $$$ to get them all repaired. We actually got a pretty good trade in value compared to what we actually bought the car for (We bought it used at a good price) so we are glad that we will be turning it in on Saturday. My Lexus salesman who is the brother of a friend of mine put it the best I've heard so far. BMWs are great cars for the first 2-3 years. After that it is another story.

On a side note. Isn't it great that there is no longer any luxury tax

Why would the socialist government there care what size wheels you have?
