What's the fastest you ever gone in your RX?
Realize the silliness of the question as our vehicles aren't exactly meant for going very fast, but my buddy has recently bought an 07 and took it on a trip to Toronto. He said that the car started making weird noises at 120 and i suggested that it was probably the limiter, assuming we have one.
So two questions:
1. Is there a speed limiter in our cars?
2. What's the fastest you ever gone in your RX?

In germany there are unimited speed motorways.
This summer during holydays i've tried 130mph in my rx400: no strange noise or weird behaviour. It seems the car can go faster but I haven't tried.
You should post this question on a german forum.

Thank you for your replies! I personally took it to 90 maybe once. Never have the urge to see how fast it could go.
They probably don't have the limiters in Germany.

I have gone 111mph. That is what it governs at. If he is in Toronto then he was likely going 120kmh not 120mph. 120kmh is about 70mph. Also the limiter doesn't make noise. The throttle is controlled by the computer so once you hit 111mph the computer just doesn't allow the throttle to open further.

The "max" speed (electronically limited) ranges from country to country, and is modified with software from the factory. Here in the US, both the '07-'09 RX350 and '06-'08 RX400h are limited at 112mph. In other countries, it may be different.
for example, my '11 GS450h, as a US spec car, is limited at 131mph, yet the same car, in UK spec, is limited at 151mph. I'm not happy about it!
I took my '08 RX400h up to the limiter on numerous occasions quite safely (i never did it with other cars around). When you hit the limiter, you sense the fuel cutoff.

The noise might have fuel cutoff like mentioned.
112 it is then. I've never taken my car to that speed, but someone mentioned taking it up to 130-140 and now this guy says he took it to 120.
