Best Front Brake Pads
I need to know what are the best brake pads to use on the front of my 2007 RX-350. At 105K miles I need new pads. Also, what material are the OEM pads made of?

Was there anything wrong with the OEM brand or what was used last time on your RX? You can go to Sewell.

After that, you might consider Akebono which are OEM for a number of manufacturers. You will want to double-check part numbers:
As you can see, they are ceramic.

I have never changed the pads, and I don't remember seeing anything about brakes in the report I read from the first 39k miles of the lease., The tires were replaced at 20K and the brakes could have been buried in that report and I missed it. The last time I used metallic brakes were with drums in the early 70's,

Unless you drive entirely highway miles, it is doubtful you could get 105K out of one set of pads and even a second set would be a stretch. Would mean you got 50K or more out of a set which is incredibly good. The fronts wear somewhat quicker than those on the rear.

I know that the pads have not been touched in 66K miles, purchased in 2009 with 39K on the speedo and today it reads 105K.
I will buy the akebono pads today, and change them this weekend.
As far as the mileage we have driven on a couple road trips, probably 10K total, but we make 300 mile highway trips to our second "Lake House" every week in the summer.
