2004 RX330 Rear lift gate will not open
I know there are numerous threads and sticky's regarding this issue, and believe me, I think I looked through almost all of them before posting a new thread. However, I still cannot get a definitive answer as to what the problem might be. Any help is greatly appreciated since my car is way out of warranty. Anyway, here's my issue: 2004 RX330 - My power liftgate suddenly stopped working. I made sure the switch is enabled inside the glovebox, checked the fuse in the engine compartment (30A), all other doors and window locks works as normal. I can't even open it from the outside anymore, like the whole thing went dead. The only way for me to open it, is by crawling through the back and unlatching from the inside. Once I got it open, I shut it, and I can't hear the motor grabbing it anymore and pulling it shut. Is this a mechanical or an electrical issue? Are there any additional fuses I'm missing?
Thanks
Thanks

Dont forget about the fuse panels inside the vehicle. check each one thoroughly. heck check each one for continuity as its possible a fuse has a hairline crack.
Next, if you are handy bench testing parts, that might be the way to go.
grab a spare battery, or run some wires from the car battery, and apply power to the "grab" motor, and lift motor / other parts to check to make sure they work. this is probably the next step in the diagnosis.

Thanks. I'll look at the other fuses associated with the tailgate. However, when I looked through the manual, the accessories that are associated with the same fuse are working.

Did you perform a continuity check on fuse #4, your 30A fuse, inside the engine bay to make sure it is good?

Next, I would be looking to see if you have power to the motor back there. Would also be rechecking the switch in the glove box to make sure it is good. Finally, the junction box in the rear:

Somewhere in there you will either find a short, a bad part, etc.

Have fixed the link, sorry. Was just the section out of the Owner's Manual with the fuse locations.
