sway bar bushings

sway bar bushings
Has anyone replaced the stock sway bar bushings on their RX with poly bushings like from Energy Suspension? The reason I ask is they have 2 different sizes for the front bar, 15/16 and 29mm for my '08, does anyone know the correct size of the front bar? Is 15/16 and 29mm about the same size ? They list only one size for the rear.
I put poly sway bar bushings on my '98 SC 300, the rear bushing was to small. Found out Lexus changed the diameter of the sway bar in mid year, so I found the slightly smaller rear bar on ebay. Kind of a hassle just for bushings, but I can feel the difference.
thanks

I replaced mine with energy suspension bushings. I think they were 24mm but may have been 23mm. The bushings are great but they are not as tall as the factory rubber ones. You'll have to make a small filler to fill the void. It needs to be about 1/4" thick and the size of the bushing. Anything thinner will eventually fall out and your sway bar will be loose and rattle. This is not a big deal. You could use plywood, plastic metal, or what I used was a scrap of Harding backer I had laying around. This is just cement board underlayment for laying tile on a wood floor. The bushings make a nice subtle improvement. We also have the TTE springs so I wanted to take full advantage of them. My wife likes the handling much better now since she came from driving an MB. By the way, the rear bushings were 14mm as I recall.

Energy Suspension states the rear bushings are 17mm, fronts 29mm. I may have to invest in a micrometer and find out for sure what size the bars are. I ordered 2 kits from Prothane ( Jegs ) for my SC, including a universal kit, didn't work, sent them both back and bought the smaller bar. Your idea of building up the bottom of the bushing is good. Could you epoxy the 1/4" piece to the bottom of the bushing ?

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I need to replace the rear sway bar bushing on my '05. I'm finding a lot of them on eBay saying FWD 16mm. Are they the same for AWD? Does anyone know for sure what size they are?
