Default Power steering pump replacement

Took my 04 RX330 to the local Toyota dealership for new tires, as they were having a 'sale' and withinn $10 of Costco. Also had the oil changed, alignment, etc. Just received a call and was told my power steering pump is beginning to leak and it would be around $1200.00 to replace. I only have just under 60k on it and plan on keeping it. Is this the going rate to have this done? I did not give the OK as I plan on taking it to an independent shop to get a second opinion. Any info y'all have would be greatly appreciated!

Take it to an independent shop and get a second opinion. I had a power steering fluid leak. I feared the worse. It turned out to be the preload tension nut on the rack & pinion assembly. The fix was $125.

Thanks, hopefully I can get that done this week as I have checked with a few people and have a shop near me that I have been told is honest. Hopefully it will be an inexpensive fix, if anything is needed at all.
