I have a 2006 with the ML. Sat radio was not an option then...so I think mine is the same radio as yours.

I have a VaisTech which currently has a XM receiver plugged into it and a Belkin AirCast. I recently removed my Harmon Kardon Drive and Play, which was plugged into the Vaistech. (the Drive and Play is a very good ipod interface. but Belkin AirCast works better for iPhone).

I could be wrong, but I don't think there is any way to put iPhone or iPod playlists on the NAV system, period.

I know for some Toyota and Lexus head units, there are iPod interfaces that do CD changer emulation, which is what Vaistech does. So that might give song title, but only on the little LCD screen that you cannot read.

While it's a separate display, the Harmon Kardon unit worked well, but you still need a separate box like a Vaistech along with it.... the Drive and Play only has Aux out, and the factory radio has no aux in, unless you have a module for that.

Personally, I use a Belkin Aircast...this gives handsfree blutooth for the iPhone thru the radio (that sounds better than the factory handsfree option) AND it does music thru Bluetooth Audio gateway

Default USA Spec iPod adapters works!

I have a 2004RX with ML sound, no SAT... and installed a USA Spec iPod adapter part number 581PA15TOY from Crutchfield. I've used it with several iPods, and iPhone 5 (using an adapter since it has the older iPod interface). It disables the CD multichanger. It allows you to specify five playlists with a specific name, which the steering controls will then cycle through either those five playlists or through songs in a playlist.
