Default 2006 RX330 rattling sounds from rear

Hi guys, I am having some issues with my 2006 rx330. When I start driving, I hear these rattling sounds coming from the rear end of the car. I'm not sure if it's from the wheels or somewhere but the sounds are driving me insane. I'm not sure where to check or what to check. Someone suggested to me that I need to replace the shock mounts. Could this just be an issue with something loose near the wheels?

Welcome to Club Lexus, ricky1110.

Pop the hatch, lift up the rear carpet and check all the storage areas to make sure your jack, toolkit and other items in that area are secure. Could be as simple as that depending on the noise you are hearing.

Check the heat shield for the muffler. Could be the strut mounts, but usually the fronts make most the noise. My bet is you have something loose underneath the vehicle.

Thanks for the replies but I have found the culprit of the noise. I had my mechanic friend take a look at it and we drove around a few blocks trying to determine where the noise was coming from. He finally pinpointed the problem. So there is a notch that locks the piece to cover your stuff in the trunk. The notch was basically grinding against the trunk after it closes.. there used to be a piece of cloth on it like the ones you put underneath the legs of a table or chair to prevent it from scratching your floors. After such long years, it was worn and torn off and the plastic was basically grinding on to the plastic notch... luckily i did not have to go through the trouble of changing the shocks and such. Whewww!!!
