2007 RX350 water pump
Need some advice. I've been told that I need my water pump replaced. It's a 2007 RX350 with 67,000 miles. While the car still falls inside the 70,000 powertrain warranty, I am about 6 months past the 72 month window for the warranty.
I've read on this forum where the dealership will work out a deal with Lexus to cover some of the cost even though the warranty has expired. The maintence of my car has been done by the Toyota dealership which is close to my home and not the Lexus service shop which is on the other side of town.
Am I out of luck with the warranty or will Lexus help? Not sure who I am suppose to talk to first, the dealership or Lexus.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Check with the dealership it may be covered. My 2007 had the water pump and transmission gasket replaced under the power train warranty. The mileage was 60098 with In service date of 4/17/2006. This was done about three months ago.

It is always a good bet to ask, however, do not get your hopes up too high. As you have not had your vehicle serviced at the Lexus dealership there is no good will as a loyal customer that is owed to you. The warranty is mileage or time, which ever comes first.
