Possible or not - Convert Tail Lights to LED
I have been wanting to change my rear tail lights for a while now. I do like these
It got me thinking and wondering is it possible to convert the rear tail lights from standard halogen globes to LED? I was also considering "red tinting" the current tail lights to give the full look at the back unlike the 80% look of the ones that can be bought aftermarket. Something more like these

How could I forget the RX400h with the "altezza" LED's . I blame it on 3 hours sleep.......
I will now investigate that path as I would prefer to have solid red all the way around (except obviously for the indicator and reverse light part of the lens) as per the car picture attached. I could in theory use the JDM hybrid ones and "make red" the 2 large circles of the light. Only concern is that the circles would probably be a different shade from the rest of the light.

I thought the JDM was the original made by Toyota, but now I'm seeing them pop up every where. Not sure if these are knock offs or not. I googled the image, and even new egg had them. I was really? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA0W807Z4310 and it's the cheapest I've seen them. So I guess it's also buyer beware.

It is. I have found since that under our laws tinting the entire light is not considered legal and would fail under vehicle inspection guidelines. I did see the following, but can't find out who did them, if they were a 1 time item or what............
