Just purchased RX350, but only received one key.
We just became a proud owners of Certified 2008 RX350. Great experience with dealership so far except we only received one remote control key and one valey key. Unfortunately we didn't know it would be so expensive to make a copy of the key, otherwise we would have negotiated.
After bringing it home we realized that we would need to spend another $300 to make a copy of the remote control key. Already spoke to the dealership and they are not willing to pay for it. Any advice?

with a used car, you get what you get. the person that sold it back to them only provided one key, so thats what conveys. sorry to hear that... the dealer could hav been more transparent about it

Use your ClubLexus ID when you create your Sewell account to get a discounted price. I have read that there may be even cheaper options on eBay.

Careful with the eBay ones. There was a thread a few weeks back about how they sometimes don't work and cannot be programmed. I would go with Sewell. But the dealer should have been more open about only one key. They could have easily sucked that up in the purchase price.

what? Certified cars are supposed to come with ALL keys (2 regular, 1 valet). This was in my certified documentation that I received when I got my 2008 certified car last month. You should talk to the dealer about it.

Welcome to Club Lexus, flintlex.
I would think a call to Lexus Customer Service would be in order. The number can be found in the Owner's Manual. If you did indeed purchase a CPO Lexus you should have gotten all the keys. Complain... loudly.

I would take the ebay route,
(1) look for rx 350 key fob you want to get the brain first. make sure the fcc # matches with your
key.
(2) then get the key code from dealer approach this ebay seller,
this guy will cut your key to your code

(3) then spend maybe $65 or more get the keys program to your car.
the worst scenario you will spend around $160 a key.

Sorry to bring back an old post but...
I, too, just purchased an used RX that came with only one key.
I am a little paranoid that the 2nd key is still in someone's hand. When you get a 2nd key, will the car "deactivate" the old key that the previous owner has?
body.
By deactivation, I meant that the car immobilizer will no longer recognize the old key (that I don't have)

Sorry, forgot to mention that it wasn't a CPO. It was purchased from a private dealer, and he got it from an auction sale.
And do you know on average, how much do Lexus dealers charge to reprogram those keys (in addition to a new cut key)?

You are looking at at least $250 for the master key. If I were in the same position, I will get a spare valet key as well since the dealer will charge you one hour labor anyway. good luck.
