Oh Noes! My Left Rear Marker Burned Out!
Shocking, isn't it?
Okay, the reason for posting is that when I had a Grand Cherokee, the little console told me about burned out bulbs. I'm not sure if it knew about marker lights but it did tell me when just ONE of the two little bulbs in the center stop light was burned out. I was impressed by that.
I'm not sure anymore which lines had sensors on them but I presume all brake & tail lights. Not sure about turn signals. It didn't tell me about a burned out headlight; presumably one ought to notice that oneself but one time, driving on lighted streets, I didn't for a while.
So what bulb outages, if any will my 2008 RX350 tell me about...or is it simply none? Was my 1995 GKC more state of the art, more lux, in this regard?

Lexus Champion
My '01 RX told me I had a tail light out once. It turned into one of those out of body Lexus/Sewell experiences. The light came on, I drove to Sewell, pulled in, said my dash told me I had a tail light out, SA said Ok, pulled the car out back, went in for coffee, SA came to get me, light fixed, no charge, took the full cup of coffee with me.
The whole thing didn't take 20 minutes including drive time from when the light came on.

As Carver mentioned, a tail light should trigger the display to show a bulb out. Will not show which one.
(k) Rear Light Failure Warning Light
If this light comes on when the headlight switch is turned on (at the first or second clickstop), it indicates that one or more of the tail lights are burned out.
Have defective bulbs replaced as soon as possible.
