the 2IS forum some members ordered a brand new set of 4 for ~$100

if you get new ones you have to "reprogram" them.....

Just browsing through this thread and I cannot seem to find TPMS Sensors anywhere for the 2005 RX330. Most places have them for 2006 and up. My 2005 has the TPMS system...what gives?

Titan TPMS has programmable sensors. We use your current ID's from the sensors or from ECU to program new sensors with that info. No relearning or re programming needed! GREAT for winter summer tire swap or even track tires.

Battery lifespan is about 5-7 years.

No sensors for 2005 RX330 this is Indirect System and does not use TPMS.

Hi Jon!
My RX350 is about five years old (2009 model, built Jun 2008) and I will be changing the tires in about six months. Would it make sense to change the sensors at that time, preventively? If so, does the make of sensors matter? [I saw above that someone found a set of four at $100, which is amazingly low in price vs. $110-160 per sonsor quoted by garages and Lexus]. Thank you for your opinion....

Yes, I would change out the sensors due to the age and opportunity you have. I can't speak for other manufacturers but the sensors we carry will work for your RX350. As far as $100 a set yes thats a great deal. I would make sure that its 1. Not a used set 2. That is not a rebuilt sensor ( someone has tried to replaced the battery!) I would not buy either of the 2. All my sensors come with a 1 year manufacturer wanatee (*some have a 2 year*) and also I can clone old ID's so no need for special tool to reset or returning the new ID's. Great for a 2nd set of wheels like Summer Winter swap or even track tires! Titan TPMS sensors are way below the STEALERSHIP price and what the garage quoted you! + FREE SHIPPING (*in the USA*)

Sewell says approximately 10 years.

"Each transmitter has a built-in semiconductor to directly measure tire pressure, and is powered by a lithium battery with a lifespan of approximately 10 years."

Would be nice if they last 10 years but I think 7-8 would be the max.
Could depend on the weather where to live.
